The beloved Instagrampier has been reimagined in the digital world.

The Digital Exhibition is a collaborative project between creative director Michele Salati and photographer Pierfrancesco Celada.
Pierfrancesco Celada and Michele Salati met on the Instagrampier and become good friends. They collaborated with graphic designers Nam Huynh and Mark Bohle, web-designer David Diaz, sound artist Yiannis Loukos to recreate this surreal yet real public space, in a multimedia Digital Exhibition.
Every day, a great number of Instagrammers, photographers and curious gathered at the pier, especially at sunset, to take selfies and scenic photos. People would return to the pier to create and re-create very similar Instagram driven imagery; a constant repetition of poses and situations played by a never-ending number of interchangeable actors. The pier becomes a place of transition, between reality and the virtual world of self-representation; between our real-selves and the way we wish our lives were perceived and represented; a “shared” portraiture of contemporary living.
The Instagrampier closed to the public in March 2021, and so the Digital Exhibition becomes the ultimate online celebration of this unique public space.
