JENNY follows the story of Jenny, an eccentric teenager with an unusual fascination for change. Through the delivery of a monologue voiceover and visual imagery, we are given a peek into the mind of quirky, teenage girl Jenny, who, despite planning her runaway, seems to be doting on the trivial tidbits of the life she wishes to leave behind. Through nostalgic and colorful shots, we juxtapose Jenny’s pessimistic world view with her seemingly joyful counterparts–her oblivious ex-boyfriend Alex and the new girl in the picture, prep-school favorite Laura Davis. We transition from a view of her relatively minimalistic room, to the discovery of her choice to run away from the mundanities of her daily life. The film is a nod to multiple 90’s cult classics such as Michael Lehmann’s black comedy, Heathers. It makes reference to popular culture that will leave you reminiscing about the past.
