Hi. Welcome to the show.
I’ve been cooking this bohemian shoot for a while and I thought of paying San Francisco a visit. With the help of the rad peeps from The Blue Tag Clothing – whose fashion riffs you will see in the next few minutes – we owned the Victorian strip of Haight – Ashbury for a morning. This place is seething with vibe, man. Grateful Dead anyone? Go ahead google them, you know you want to.
I grabbed coffee at 5 and headed out dark onto a freeway full of fog. Yeah, I was in Frisco alright. I shot this mostly with the trusty-50, sometimes a pain – but hey – these dish out the best frames you’ll ever make. I decided on skipping strobes and made use of 100% Jesus-light (homeboy RonskiGFX coined this for natural lighting) and bounced that off any surface I could find.
Big thanks to Lala and Eugenie from The Blue Tag Clothing for their boho styling input – this’ll give them something to talk about. To those watching, send them some love at www.facebook.com/TheBlueTagClothing.
The featured girl is an old buddy’s sister from way back. I mean like 20-some years back. The last time I’ve seen her was then 3 feet tall and was missing her two front teeth. Then things changed.
Aim high, fly low.
