Ngumimi‚Äù is a true-life story of the Nigerian girl child called Ngumimi. In one horrific moment her father is killed and her brother is taken away by herdsmen. This happens in the middle belt part of Nigeria. The trauma leaves her mute. She finds herself in an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp and almost immediately flees the camp by hiding in a commodity filled truck to a destination unknown to her. The movie aims to show the culture and tradition (hospitality, hard work, vibrancy) of the Benue people to the outside world and have the average audience connect with the way of life and challenges of this peculiar people.
