William Shakespeare staged his plays with all-male casts during the Elizabethan period. But from Nov. 13-15, 2015 at the Tenney Theater in Honolulu St. Andrew’s Priory School for Girls presented the comedy, “Twelfth Night,” with an all-girl cast.
Priory drama director Claire Fallon (Priory ’02) mixed Elizabethan and modern elements to produce a uniquely enjoyable one-hour show.
It had music, choreography and singing that included a full-cast rendition of Adam Levine’s “Locked Away.”
It featured an unusual combo of bongos, violins and a ukelele.
The girls playing male roles wore moustaches, mutton chops and padding and there was a skull cap. The costumes looked authentic.
