For many Syrian refugee women and female heads of households, life is a daily struggle. They are impacted by unemployment and their participation in the labor market is low. For those who have managed to secure non-formal employment, many are struggling to maintain a source of income, particularly since the pandemic.

Drawing on the experience of Syrian refugee women in the MENA region, this webinar invites experts from the humanitarian sector and academia to share insights and perspectives on women’s economic empowerment through lifting barriers to their employment. Speakers will examine the impact of policy decisions on livelihood opportunities and the limited effects of investments and policies intended to lead to job creation.
