“Women Dating Over 50” is a mockumentary style comedic series that is a non-scripted show which features a group of fictitious characters that discuss their lengthy and sometimes painful journeys in today’s dating world. Some of the topics include online dating, how easy it is to fall prey to the prowess serial dater while they are still looking for the love of their life. Meanwhile, they fall privy to getting the wrong dating advice from dating expert and life coach, Jack Stark, who considers himself the Dr. Phil of love, in this “Hook-Up Culture.” Each character has found Dr. Jack’s Dating App to help them with their journey.
The main characters are a cast of four women and four men who will give on-camera interviews as well as hilarious dating situations that are 100% improvised and filmed in various locations in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area, such as bar scenes, clubs, restaurants, mansions, condos, etc. The discussions will reveal the following characters; first Stella and Lucy, our attractive single women over 50 have different goals in mind. Stella is a strong business woman that’s a cougar, looking for a young stud with no strings attached. Then there’s confidante, Lucy, who detests the dating world, she just wants to stay at home fantasizing about love by reading her Harlequin romance novels and mope over her failed 20-year marriage, while cutting out her ex from all their framed couple photos. These women confide in each other over the trials of dating in the late stages of their lives. Stella naively seeks the advice of a dating expert, Jack, thinking he will be the answer to all her love problems, but only adds to them.
Our other characters are the younger set, such as Jen, our twenty-something new age hippie that’s 420 friendly who loves yoga and new age music. She is beautiful and fit but delusional about love as all the men she dates want just one thing and nothing more. Then we have her 30 something best friend, Rebecca who only wants a sugar daddy for the lavish life and no longer wants to date broke young men.
We intertwine our male characters with our female characters in our story. For example, Kent, a fifty-something, rich wannabe sugar daddy looking for his hot young sugar baby. Then we have Nick, who is our young twenty-something cub looking for his sugar mama to fund his expensive taste. Then we introduce our incurable romantic mama’s boy, David, who’s infatuated by older women but his overbearing mother, Martha, wants him to meet a nice young girl and give her lots of grand kids.
Our characters will face each other in awkward dating situations and all the while, our resident dating expert, Jack, provides them with bad dating advice on each episode. In the vein of “The Office” style show in the dating world, our main characters are in continuous comedic situations with each other.
