Today, the majority of images are shot digitally. We take selfies on phones which dictate how we look, through filters and lighting, so I felt letting an AI program rebuild several of my selfies wasn’t any different.

Why should we normalise having a polished portrait of yourself, why do you have to look perfect online?

This series of images focuses on my digital identity and the performance we lead online, through various forms of technology and platforms, that can very easily steer you away from your reality. I made each selfie frame into a film that looks like an ultrasound taking place as if I was being developed into something completely new. Who is this person? What do other people see?
